To support our team, we are looking for a
Network and Security Engineer (m/w/d)
as a fulltime employee (40h/week) based in Mainz, Germany.
Your responsibilities:
- Management of the Mainz Biomed networking infrastructure
- Development and ongoing administration of the Mainz Biomed security infrastructure
- Coordination of network expansion projects to support the continual growth of the company
- Monitor internal and external network traffic, proactively identifying networking issues or areas for optimizations
- Identify and track the resolution of security issues on the Mainz Biomed network
- Troubleshooting of networking issues in reaction to support requests raised in the Mainz Biomed ticketing system
- Maintaining an inventory of networking equipment and ongoing maintenance contracts
Your profile:
- University degree in Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years' experience working in a similar role
- At least 2 years’ experience working with the majority of the following Fortinet products:
- Fortigate
- FortiSwitch
- FortiWiFi
- FortiNAC
- FortiAnalyzer
- FortiVPN
- Strong working knowledge of network segmentation and traffic shaping
- Strong working knowledge of a comprehensive networking monitoring system (preferably Zabbix)
- Experience of internal and external penetration testing
- Proven experience of operating large-scale networks across multiple locations
- Proven knowledge of TCP/IP stack, DNS, DHCP protocols
- Excellent English (minimum C1) language skills, both written and spoken. German language skills are an advantage
